Mini-Morphosis* was created in early 1997 originally out of balsa wood - which was how I made all my prototypes for Tenyo. It was only after a while I came across Polystyrene plastic, which can be scored and cut easily and fused together to form any construction you desire. With the help of my friend Gordon Tait, we made another trunk - this time out of polystyrene. It was much more solid and looked good.

I made many more tricks - all specifically designed with Tenyo in mind. Some were created before Mini-Morphosis and many afterwards. When I felt I had a good showcase, I contacted Tenyo and informed them about the tricks I had created. They requested a video performance of some of the effects which I complied with. They were impressed and so they stopped off in London to see my effects live, prior to continuing their journey to FISM in Dresden.

I showed them a total of 13 effects. They selected 5 to take back with them - one of which was Mini-Morphosis. As a result, it was released as part of the 1999 range.

* The title Mini-Morphosis came about during 1998 and was not thought of by me but by Steve Cohen.
